A six-week personal writing program
Understanding Your Weight ecosystem
A six-week personal writing program for women who know how to lose weight - but can't understand why it keeps coming back.
This program looks beyond dieting and explores the wider ecosystem your weight lives in, including your health, body, emotions, diet history and relationship with food.
Six weeks · Ten minutes a week · Entirely private
WHAT THIS PROGRAM IS
Your weight is not the product of a single cause, a single habit, or a single failure. It is the visible surface of an entire ecosystem - a living, shifting network of health, body, emotions, diets and food, all interacting with one another over time.

Traditional weight conversations zoom in on one element and treat it like the whole story.
Count this. Cut that. Fix your mindset. Try this new plan.
But when you isolate one part and ignore the rest, you miss the patterns that quietly run the show.

Systems thinking invites you to step back and see how these parts connect: how your idea of "health" shapes the way you treat your body, how your emotions ripple into eating, how diet history rewrites your relationship with food, and how all of it influences your next move.
How it works
Read
2 minutes
Each week, a new topic arrives in your inbox with a short introduction and investigative prompts
Write
6 minutes
Explore the prompts at your own pace. There are no rules about how much you write, and no one reads your answers.
Reflect
2 minutes
Review what surfaced, notice what surprised you, and let the insights settle before the next week begins.
About 10 minutes per week. That's it.
The Six Weeks
Each week explores one part of the ecosystem with deep, investigative writing prompts
Week One
Health
"What does good health actually look like for you - not what you've been told it should look like?"
Week Two
Body
"What would your body say about the pressure it has lived under?"
Week Three
Emotions
"Which emotions do you confuse with hunger most often?"
Week Four
Diets
"What trail has dieting left through your life?"
Week Five
Food
"What do you truly feel about food and the role it has played?"
Week Six
Weaving the Threads together
"If your weight pattern were a system, what is the single lever you can now influence?"
Who This Is For
Women aged 40 - 60 who have dieted more times than they can count
Women who know how to lose weight but can't keep it off
Women who are tired of blaming themselves for a pattern they can't seem to break
Women who are ready to understand why - not just try again
The Program works best when your writing is private and honest.
What you'll discover
The ecosystem sitting beneath your weight - health, body, emotions, diets, food - and how they interact
Patterns you've never noticed because no one asked the right questions
The difference between hunger, appetite, and hungering
A way to use personal writing as a tool for genuine self-investigation
That you have more wisdom inside you than any diet ever offered
About this Program
This program was created by Bronwyn - a former nurse, midwife, and health educator who applies systems thinking to women's health. The Weighting for Happiness project is fundamentally a health program, not a weight loss one.

Understanding Your Weight Ecosystem sits alongside the broader Weighting for Happiness® project as a primer - a way to enter these tangled concepts together. For those who want to go deeper, the full Weighting for Happiness program is available after the six weeks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a good writer?
Not at all. This writing is entirely private - no one reads it, no one marks it, and there is no standard you're measured against. You're writing for yourself, to see what you notice. Spelling, grammar, and style do not matter here.
_______________________
How much time does it take?
About 10 minutes per week - 2 minutes to read the topic, 6 minutes to write, and 2 minutes to review. You can take longer if you want to, but the program is designed to fit easily into a busy life
_______________________
Is this a diet program?
No. There are no meal plans, calorie targets, or food rules. This is investigation, not prescription. The program helps you understand the system beneath your weight pattern — it doesn't tell you what to eat
_______________________
What if difficult emotions come up?
This is expected, and it's healthy. The prompts are designed to be safe and self-paced — you can write as little or as much as you want, and you can step back whenever you need to. If something feels too much, you set the pace.
_______________________
Can I do the Program more than once?
Yes - and many women do. Each time you return to the prompts, you bring a different version of yourself. What you notice in year two will be different from year one, because you will be different.
_______________________
What happens after six weeks?
You can continue writing on your own using the patterns and prompts you've discovered. If you want to go deeper, the Weighting for Happiness® program offers a more comprehensive exploration of the ecosystem — with structured support and guidance.
