WHY DIETS FAIL
The real reason weight regain is predictable - and why it’s not your fault.
Diets Assume the Problem Is You
They assume:
-
you lack discipline
-
you lack motivation
-
you lack willpower
-
you lack consistency
But none of these explain:
-
why you can lose weight
-
why you can’t keep it off
-
why dieting gets harder over time
-
why midlife changes everything
-
why eating feels automatic
Diets fail because they treat symptoms.

The Real Reason Diets Fail: They Ignore the System
Your weight is shaped by:
-
your history
-
your childhood food culture
-
your daily eating patterns
-
your emotional needs
-
your biology
-
your environment
-
your stress load
-
your autopilot cycles
This is your weight ecosystem.
Diets don’t address it.
They disrupt it.

Why Weight Regain Is Predictable
When you diet, the system responds:
-
appetite increases
-
hunger intensifies
-
emotional eating strengthens
-
autopilot eating increases
-
cravings intensify
-
metabolism adapts
-
weight returns
This is not failure.
This is the system doing what systems do.

Why Midlife Makes Dieting Even Harder
Midlife changes:
-
hormones
-
stress load
-
sleep
-
metabolism
-
appetite regulation
The system becomes more reactive. Diets become less effective.
Why Diets Don’t Work
Why don’t diets work for me anymore?
Because diets only work at the food level. If you’re eating to cope, soothe, suppress, or regulate, no diet can override that. WFH shows you the root cause beneath the eating.

Why can’t I stick to a diet?
When you start a diet, depending on the calorie reduction, your body will fight back. It’s invincible, but you don’t understand why. Let’s take a look together at what is happening and how through conversations with yourself you can uncover the issues your fighting against.
You’re not failing. Diets destabilise your Eating System. When a diet restricts food, your system reacts by increasing cravings, urges, and emotional eating. WFH teaches you how that system works so you can change it.
Julia's experience is that "I start out with great expectations when I plan a new diet. I know I’ve tried lots of times in the past, but this diet will work. I’m committed, and I know this time it will work. Every other woman in the advertising has lost 30 to 40 Kg. I only need to lose 20. I know it will work, but I’ve always given up in the past."
